Gotu Kola Leaf
Gotu Kola is a traditional leafy botanical with a long history of use in Ayurveda and Traditional Chinese Medicine. Known botanically as Centella asiatica, this creeping tropical plant has become especially popular among people exploring herbs traditionally associated with focus, memory, mental clarity, and a balanced state of mind.
Our Organic Gotu Kola Leaf is the dried leaf of the plant in a simple, traditional form. It can be brewed on its own as an herbal tea, combined with other botanicals in custom blends, or used for tinctures and other herbal preparations. Its flavor is distinctly herbal, with naturally sweet, bitter, and slightly astringent notes.

How to Use Gotu Kola Leaf
Gotu kola leaf can be prepared much like other loose herbal teas. Add the dried herb to hot water, allow it to steep, and strain before drinking. Its earthy herbal character also makes it easy to combine with other botanicals when creating your own loose-leaf blends.
The dried leaf can also be used in tinctures and other traditional herbal preparations. Because gotu kola contains no caffeine, it can be incorporated into either daytime or evening botanical routines depending on the blend and individual preference.
An Ancient Botanical for the Mind
Centella asiatica is a low-growing tropical plant native to parts of Asia and has been used for thousands of years in both Ayurvedic and Chinese herbal traditions. The plant's distinctive rounded leaves are also eaten as a vegetable in several Asian cultures.
Gotu kola has developed an especially strong association with the mind. Traditional herbal systems have long valued it in preparations centered around memory, focus, clarity, and mental balance. Despite the similarity in name, gotu kola is completely different from caffeine-containing kola nut and is not considered a stimulant.
