Today I'm going to show you a quick and simple way to turn a jar of The Green Nursery CBD flower into some high potency CBD canna butter.

Step 1: Important.

First things first. You should decarb your hemp flower to make it most effective. Decarboxylation is the process of heating your hemp flower at a low temperature that makes the CBD more available to your body. "Decarboxylation is using heat to convert cannabinoids from their acid form into their active form."

Easy oven decarb method.

1. Preheat your oven to 250 degrees Fahrenheit.

2. Break your hemp flower up into very small pieces with your fingers, scissors, or grinder.

3. Spread your chopped flower evenly onto a baking tray lined with parchment paper.

4. Place the tray on the middle shelf of your oven.

5. Bake at this low temp for 2 hours.

6. Remove from oven and allow to cool. The hemp flower should have completely dried out and turned brown in color. It should smell toasty and crumble easily between your fingers.

Congrats. You've decarbed your flower!

LET'S GET TO THE BUTTER!

Step 2: Grab 1 Stick of Butter (use Earth Balance or Coconut Oil for a vegan recipe) and 1 Bag (7 Grams) of high quality hemp flower and 1 cup of water.  Here we are using The Green Nursery CBD flower, but any brand will do (though we are biased ;))!

Step 3: Melt the butter on the lowest heat possible. You don't want to fry the buds, you want to slowly extract.

Step 4: Add your broken up and decarbed flower to the melted butter. Add 1 cup of water so that the temperature is easier to control and you don't burn the flower. By the time it is done, the water will have completely cooked out.

Step 5: Simmer the broken up buds in the butter and water on the lowest heat possible.

Slowly cook the buds in the butter and water for about 1 to 2 hours.  Stir every 10-15 minutes. Don't burn the buds. Sorry for the shadowy pic on this one.

Step 6: Once all the water has cooked out, strain the butter into a measuring cup. And then press the buds with a small spatula to squeeze out remaining butter.  You can also use cheesecloth for this if you want to get serious.

Step 7: If you followed this recipe exactly with the 7g The Green Nursery CBD flower example and 1 stick of butter, the contents will pour perfectly back into a pint size ball jar.  Let it cool with the top off.  Once cooled, cover and store in the fridge.

You can now use this in any recipe or spread on toast.  Whatever you use butter for.  As far as dosage is concerned.  Try about 1 Tablespoon or so and see how you feel.  Should have a nice relaxing effect.  Use your own judgement and try as much as you like within a reasonable amount.

Enjoy!
